Karen Macher (b. 1979, Lima) is a Peruvian artist whose practice engages with natural processes, ephemerality, and the passage of time. Working across installation, textiles, and material-based forms, she develops a poetic language rooted in attentive observation, listening, and tactile sensitivity.
Her work explores the subtle dynamics of transformation through organic processes and structural tensions, often employing materials that emerge from and return to the land. In doing so, Macher foregrounds the transient and the cyclical, inviting a contemplative awareness of impermanence.
Positioned between the sensory and the material, her practice proposes a quiet yet resonant reflection on our relationship with the natural world. Her work has been presented in international symposia and exhibitions across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
